Children Influenza Vaccinations

Children aged 2 or 3 years on 31 August 2023 (born between 1 September 2019 and 31 August 2021) are eligible to receive the influenza vaccination here at Ashfield. If you have not yet heard from us please call the practice to book an appointment for your child.

All primary school aged children and those in years 7 to 11 in secondary school, will receive their vaccine via the school programme.

The only exception to this is for children in those year groups who have a long-term health condition such as Asthma, Diabetes, a heart condition or who are immunocompromised. These patients can contact the practice and book in with one of our nurses. These patients will be contacted by the practice and invited to book an appointment with us.

The practice is unable to vaccinate school aged children that do not meet our eligibility criteria. The school vaccination programme is running now and all children will be offered the vaccine this season. If your child misses their appointment at school, you can call the Children’s Immunisation Service on 0121 466 3410 to book a new appointment.
