CQC Report: Requires Improvement

The CQC carried out an announced inspection back in April 2024. The results of this inspection were recently published and the practice was rated as ‘Requiring Improvement’ with inspectors raising concerns around patients having trouble reaching the practice by the phone.

We welcome the CQC’s findings and recognise that there are areas in which we need to do better for our patients. We have already started work to address these concerns, including improvements to our communication processes and a new and improved staff induction programme, and have developed an action plan focused on the report’s findings.

The GP Patient Survey shows that patient satisfaction with the care received at our surgery is higher than both local and national averages, but we know that access on our phone lines can be challenging for our population. We have made significant strides in tackling this, as the CQC’s report sets out, including more staff on our phones in the morning and more options for patients to contact us, such as online via our website and through the NHS App.

We will be continuing to build on the progress we’ve already made and will continue to put our patients first in everything we do, using their feedback to further improve the services we provide. By actively seeking and incorporating patient feedback, we aim to continuously refine our services and meet their evolving needs.

Further announcements on the changes that will take place at the practice will be communicated to patients soon.
