New Appointment Booking System Goes Live

Last week saw the rollout of our new online booking system.

Our new system is easy to use and will ensure you get an appointment with the most appropriate service first time, without the need to call back again and again.

No need to queue up or join the early morning telephone rush. You can submit requests from 7am Monday to Friday, and a member of our team will review your enquiry and respond with an appropriate appointment or self care.

Our first day alone has seen the system triage and book over 250 appointments ranging from medically urgent same day to non-urgent routine appointments in 2+ weeks time. Feedback from patients who have used the system today has been positive and cited how easy it was for them to use and get a response and/or appointment quickly.

The easiest way for patients to submit their requests is to use the online form available on our website. This is available from 7am until 6pm each weekday and takes only a few minutes to complete. Patients preferring to speak to a member of staff to book their appointment can do so and will be triaged in the same way. It currently takes approximately 15-20 minutes per patient to complete the triage form over the phone or face to face, so please only choose this option if you have no way to use the only service.

Patients submitting requests online have in most cases been offered an appointment within minutes via our automatic triage system. For more complex cases, that have required review beforehand, patients have often received a response within the hour.

Just a reminder, but appointments with the nurse and healthcare assistant are not booked via the online service and are booked in the normal manner by calling the appointments line or visiting the practice. This includes cervical screening (smears) and blood tests (phlebotomy) as well as injections, wound care and Asthma/COPD/Diabetes annual reviews.
